Woodburning, also known as Pyrography, is a free hand art form that involves burning designs and letters into wooden articles with a woodburning tool. The process of woodburning is completely irreversible and whatever is burned in, cannot be removed from the article after. Woodburning is often used to personalize household wooden articles like cutting boards, spoon handles, wooden combs/brushes, boxes, coasters and so on. Hard and soft wood types can be used for woodburning provided the correct temperatures are used.
