Glass Engraving
Engraving on glass can add a lot of value to an otherwise plain object. Some examples of glassware that can be engraved are coffee/tea mugs, Pyrex bakeware, wine bottles, champagne flutes, whiskey glasses, perfume bottles, and so on. The key thing to remember is that the glass should be smooth (without any self design or textures) and clear (not frosted), to allow for neat strokes. Gold, silver and other metallic inlays can be added to a few items which are not used in microwaves or ovens, as the metal inlay can cause sparks to fly when the glassware is heated.
Note:
– If you would like to engrave items already purchased by you, please arrange for these items to be delivered and picked up from the engraving location.
– If you would like to pick an item from the ones I have worked with, you can contact me directly and discuss the custom lettering/art to be made.
– While engraving long sentences and quotes is very much a possibility, always note the amount of space available on the item in question. Being succinct with the words and design is always a good thing…..like a tagline….the shorter, the better.
Metal Engraving
Unlike glass engraving, metal engraving is more subtle in appearance. There is usually no inlay added to metal engravings since the metal object has its own shine. Stainless steel cutlery, cups and plates are commonly engraved objects. Brass and bronze objects can also be engraved like stainless steel.
